Introducing LaunchWeek
Feb 06, 2025I believe that South Africa has the talent and skill required to give Silicon Valley a run for its money. Everyday, talented programmers, software developers and software engineers push out new code, new features and new products. But, how much of this do you know?
LaunchWeek is a platform that enables South African developers to share their work, in the form of a weekly newsletter.
It gives you the chance to send something to your mom to show here you made it!
What Exactly Is It?
In a nutshell, LaunchWeek is a weekly newsletter that highlights the week’s feature releases, product launches or other work a developer has done, for example an article they wrote. It consists out of 5 main sections:
- Introduction - This is just where I say some nice things about the week…
- Story #1 - This part shares our first story of the week, primarily a feature that has been released.
- Story #2 - This part will be the main story, the feature of the newsletter, the big guy. The Product Launch.
- Story #3 - This part will cover another big feature that was released this.
- VNext - This part kind of acts like a changelog. And anything that does not make the first three stories can be added right here, including articles.
How Can My Work Be Featured?
The are three ways I plan to source content for the newsletter:
- Through active research and Googling, I find a cool South Africa product, and share it on the newsletter.
- By actively reaching out to developers and asking if they have something cool to share.
- Having developers reach out to me at team@launchweek.co.za with a cool story they wish to share.
How can you get involved?
If this sounds super interesting to you, the first thing you can do is join the club 👉 Subscibe. Also, if you have anything to share, send me a message at team@launchweek.co.za and lastly, if you know of anyone who might be interested in this, then it falls onto you to share this with them 🫡.
Wrapping up
May this newsletter do well and help developers celebrate their wins.
